O Drico postou no blog dele um clip do The Strokes http://odiaasemanaomes.blogspot.com/2010/03/strokes.html e isso me fez ter vontade de falar sobre o primeiro disco solo do vocalista da dita banda, o sr. Julian Casablancas e seu "Phrase for the Young".
Pois bem, Julian Casablancas conseguiu fazer um disco sem ficar sofrendo da síndrome de fazer discos iguais ao da sua banda de origem. E o melhor, fez um bom disco que é a cara dos anos oitenta, e pegando influências do que seria considerado o mais chato daquela década. Julian não pegou referências de grandes bandas como The Smiths, The Cure, ou qualquer outra considerada ícone dos anos 80, não, muito pelo contrário, ele usou o lado mais pop e descartável, como Flock of Seagulls, ABC e Thompson Twins.
O resultado dessa mistura é um pop com forte apelo eletrônico e dançante, que de tão sem pretensão acaba se tornando um dos bons discos para se escutar esse ano.

Um disco para quem gosta de bandas pop dos anos 80, fanta uva, luminosos de neon e do filme "Ruas de Fogo".

Well, Julian Casablancas managed to make a disk without being suffering from the syndrome of making records like the one his band of origin. Best of all, made a good record that is the face of the eighties, and picking up influences should be considered the most annoying of the decade. Julian did not get referrals from great bands like The Smiths, The Cure, or otherwise considered an icon of the 80th, no, quite the contrary, he used the side and disposable pop, like Flock of Seagulls, ABC, Thompson Twins.
The result is a mixture of pop with strong electronic and dance that's so unpretentious ends up becoming one of the good albums to listen to this year.
A disc for those who like pop bands of the 80s, fanta grape, bright neon and the movie "Streets of Fire".
